Psoriatic arthritis: advice and options
Psoriatic arthritis is a complex condition involving the skin, nails, peripheral and axial skeleton, entire digits (dactylitis) and entheses. It is estimated that psoriasis is prevalent in 2-3 per cent of the general population. One third of these patients will have an inflammatory arthritis and at least 20 per cent of people with psoriasis have severe psoriatic arthritis with progressive joint lesions.

Children’s Ambulatory Unit change in opening hours
Hammersmith Hospital
The Children’s Ambulatory Unit (CAU) at Hammersmith Hospital will be changing its opening hours. From Monday 7 May 2012 the unit will be open to patients with referrals from GPs and walk-ins from 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday.

Managing referrals for antenatal
Essential booking information
We have centralised the maternity booking office for St Mary’s Hospital (SMH) and Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital (QCCH) to process all referral letters for both sites. Patient choice still applies, however, please note that we give precedence to women in the local area. At QCCH we also prioritise those at high risk, requiring input from specialist teams.

BNP analysis
Available at Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary's hospitals
Our Cardiology team are pleased to report that the BNP service is now available to GPs across our sites. Cardiology teams at Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary's Hospitals can all now accept referrals for all patients with heart failure suspected on the basis of their BNP result. You can also expect faster turnaround times.
